"Nenna" means 'mother' in Bambara. The song starts as an entreaty to his mother as Sory sings and asks her to talk to him, tell him things of the world. He asks me of the world. I relive my favorite childhood memories as I ask my mom to sing one more time with me. Michele sings of the gift and strength of womanhood in a gorgeous verse so remarkably intricate yet intimate that it is a perfect endnote to this beautiful moment of music.
